What I Wore in 2013 on PerksOfBeingAlly

I was quite shocked to see that I've done at least one outfit post each month this year (minus December). I was also quite shocked to realise that most of my outfits didn't consist of just a top and my black skater skirt! In January I got a bit too excited with the Vignette effect, I'd say my pictures started getting decent around August time, thanks PicMonkey! My favourite outfits were the ones in August and September. My style has most definitely progressed compared to last year, even with just wearing a dark lip has given me more confidence in what I wear.. although there are some outfits I look at now and make me think "why?" haha, hopefully I won't feel any regret a year from now when I'm recapping my 2014 outfits! I don't think any of my outfits co-ordinated with the different seasons and I think that's something I need to work on. because well.. wearing tights and a skirt in the middle of winter isn't the best decision!

What I got for Christmas (2013)

Hello there!
I had such a wonderful Christmas yesterday, my favourite part was all the food; I could live on Parsnips and stuffing for the rest of my life! I got some really awesome gifts too so I thought I'd share them with y'all
I've been obsessing over rings so much recently so I was happy to see that Vanese got me lots! The gold ones are midi's and are so lovely, they all have tiny different shapes and look really good on! I took a liking to the site Waiste about a month ago so it made me really happy that Vanese got me this beautiful Purple Oval Ring from their site. It looks so nice with my nails painted and mixed with the gold rings!
The next thing from Vanese was this super adorable Ukulele! I've been wanting one but never really got round to actually getting one! I'm so excited to learn how to play the Ukulele and play all my favourite songs!
Aaah, Vanese got me the boots I've been dying for from ClothesMinded. Although that platform is mahoosive, these are honestly the comfiest and easiest boot typed platform heels I've ever walked in, I'd compare them to walking flatforms. They make me look really tall which is always a bonus and the platform is so big that it's hard to fall over in them!  These are now £19 from £38, totally worth it if you're looking for a good deal!
Next from Vanese is this "90's thing" muscle t-shirt from ASOS. I love printed shirts and as soon as I saw this I thought it would go amazing with my Levi jeans to give it the full 90's look!
My older sister got my this beautiful jewelry holder with three compartments. I'm so happy to have this, I struggle with keeping my jewelry together so this is very handy! Also inside was one of those necklaces with the letters on that you can change, so I'm excited to wear that with different words on!
Vanese got me James Franco's book Palo Alto. I've not had a read of it yet, but I've read about it and I can't wait to dig in! Vanese then got me a pack of 5 disposable cameras, so awesome! )I used one for Christmas day.) She also got me the Switch Series One boxset. I was obsessed with this show and so gutted when it didn't come back for a second series on ITV2, but now I don't have to be sad because I can watch it forever on repeat!
And lastly, Vanese got me this amazing photo album to go with the disposable cameras. I love the quote on it and the little "Ally's Memories" sign. This is so cute, definitely my top gift! I can't wait to take photos, get them developed and then put them into the photo album, it's gonna be awesome!

So that's what I got for Christmas this year! I'm honestly so grateful for everything, I couldn't be happier! I love reading What I Got For Christmas posts, so if you have one please leave a link I'd love to have a read!
If you want to see what I got Vanese, click here to see her post.

I can't believe 2013 is coming to an end. I don't think I'll ever get used to saying 2014. It just doesn't sound right! I need to do a resolutions, New Years ootd and a "My Year In Blogging" post! So I guess I'll see you very soon, bye:)

Christmas Wishlist 2013

Woah, feels like it's been forever since I last did a proper post. I've not been up to much, just been doing lots of college work and buying Christmas presents! I've received conditional offers from four universities and an interview for my last choice. I'm so motivated now that I've received my offers, I'm going to work my butt off these next couple of months. I can't believe Christmas is only three days away! I'm unbelievably excited for Vanese & the rest of the fam to open up the presents I bought! Here are some things that are on my wishlist this year
Christmas Wishlist 2013
1 - AA Riding Pants : I've seen a few bloggers rocking Riding Pants and they always look so good! They seem to be the only "legging" type pant that's actually acceptable to wear as pant. I love how they're high waisted and come in a whole range of colours.

2 - Missguided, Cecily Boots : I've been craving chunky platform boots this whole year, these Missguided ones are so lovely wiith the cut out and the buckles. They remind me of a JC pair.

3 - Etsy, Black Stone Onyx Ring : I've really been loving simple rings recently, I love ones with stones and crystals. I feel in love with this ring when I came across it on Etsy! I think it would look good on with some silver midi rings, offt'.

4 - Topshop, Lips in Beguiled : I came across this lipstick the other day, it's such a nice deep burgundy colour. Reminds me Rimmel's 107 lipstick!

5- Clothesminded, Lace Platform Boots : I have been lusting after these boots, oh my goodness, I cry a bit inside everytime I look at them. These would be nice dressed up and down I think, with a nice skater skirt or some skinny black jeans, yum. I also can't believe that they're only £19 from £38 and every size is in stock!

6 & 7 - UO, Elephant RugOhh Deer Bison Wall Art : Since I'm hoping to go to university and move away next year, I've been thinking of what I could do to spice up my room. I'm thinking fairy lights and lots of pictures. I love these two pieces from Urban Outfitters, I'm not sure why but I really love Elephant and/or Lion rugs.. I love this "Ohh Deer Bison" picture, the colours are so simple and the whole illustration is quite amazing.

8 - Marc Jacobs Honey : I love getting perfumes on christmas, Marc Jacobs 'Honey' has been hyped so much, I'm pretty sure it smells amazing! I really love how cute the bottle is, gives me summer feels.

9 - Fuji Instax 210 Camera : This camera has been really popular this year! I love that the photos come out instantly and who can resists that classing Polaroid look?! These would make great additions to put on a uni room wall, holding all your great memories!

10 - AA BouclĂ© Shawl Cardigan : I've also been seeing a few people rocking this cardigan, it looks so nice with every outfit. Pity about the price, but I've actually been calculating how long I'd need to wait to afford it!

Happy Christmas everyone :)

Goddiva : Celebrity Inspired New Years Party Dresses‏

Since I'm not going to any Christmas parties I've not been obsessed with thinking of outfits to wear, but I've been going crazy over outfit ideas of New Years!! I've made a wishlist from Goddiva's website from the Celebrity inspired section and picked my favourite ones that I think would be awesome for New Years! :) Celebrity Inspired New Years Party Dresses

1 - Crochet Lace Maxi in the style of Selena Gomez :
This dress caught my eye as soon as I saw it, it's in the style of what Selena Gomez wore at the VMA's in 2011! I love the little crochet/lace bit around the cleavage area, it gives it quite a classy look and there is no harm in looking classy on new years! Selena Gomez has more dresses inspired by her on the Goddiva site!

I'm not sure what it is but when it comes to winter and dressing up.. sequins and all things glittery come to mind! I've fallen head over heels with this Kim Kardashian inspired dress. This would be absolutely fabulous for a night out, celebrating the new year! I've been loving black so much this year, but couldn't resist picking this one out, gold is such a versatile colour though, you could style it with any colour and it would still look good.

The split was quite a popular trend in the celebrity world this year! I think this dress is beautiful and you would definitely feel like a celebrity if you wore this! I think it would look nice at a really posh New Years party haha, I love the open toed heels the model is wearing also - spot on!

Best till last.. (and not just because I'm a massive fan of Taylor Swift!!) I love the simplicity of this. The lace lining on the top layer - this dress would be great to dress up or even dress down. It's one of those dresses I could just stare at all day and just go "aww", I would definitely chose to wear this to a New Years eve party, paired with black wedges or platform boots!

I can't believe how much I've been slacking in the blogging world recently, I've not done much post in the past two month but I'm hoping this will all change! I've got some outfit posts and new year-related posts to do, so look out for those! Bye for now :)

Cheap Christmas Stocking Ideas

HI.. long time, no post! I've finally sent off my UCAS application so I can actually get back to blogging!
I can't believe we're at the end of November and I'm writing my first Christmas related post, so crazy.

I don't remember the last time I had a stocking, but I thought it would be cool to do a little gift guide/idea post for what I'd like to have in one! So here are the five things I think would be cool to receive in a stocking

1 : Books
You can never go wrong or have too many books! A book that would be fabulous to receive in a stocking is Lauren Conrad's "Style". I took this book out in the library in January.. and I'm still yet to return it! It's such a good read and probably the best style guide I've ever read (and probably ever will). From mixing patterns to mastering the smokey-eye, this book has everything a girl needs!

2 : Mugs
Like books, you can never have too many mugs! I'm obsessed with mugs and my collection is slowly growing.. I was sent this beautiful Birdy mug from IWOOT! They also have this beautiful Knuckle Duster Mug which is going on my Christmas wishlist! Not only do they have great mugs, they also have lots of quirky items on their site. If you're strugging on gifts for christmas you should check out iwoot! They even have experiencing days like indoor skydiving, Thames Lunch Cruise, Sushi Making! IWOOT is also super affordable, I can definitely see myself shopping for unique gifts in the future!!

3 : Teeth Whitener
Teeth Whitening seems to actually be a thing these days.. I would frown upon it, but after reviewing Pearly's Weekly Teeth Whitening Power and Teeth Whitening Foam I can definitely see why! The first time I used this I could see a massive difference. It's been about a month since I finished it and I feel like a book without words. If you're looking for a cheap way to get them grills white, I've found the answer! I had before and after pictures which I saved it on my laptop but everything (including every photographic memory I've had since 2008) got wiped, but CarlyRowena did a post on it some time ago and the results she got were amazing!

4 : Notebooks, Scrapbooks, Diaries
Notebook are essentials for almost everyone, I have a big collection of notebooks and I just can't get enough of them! I think it would also be cool to give someone a scrapbook, especially for friends; filled with pictures, quotes and all that! My favourite sites for notebooks and photo albums are Urban Outfitters and The Peas Knees - I could get lost in the stationary sections!

5 : Nail Polishes & Lipstick
And finally, nail polishes and lipsticks! Since nail polishes and lipsticks are tiny you could always pop them in a stocking. My favourites are currently the Barry M Matte Nail Polishes, I need to get my hands on one! There will never be a time a girl won't love a lipstick. I bet MAC and Rimmel London will be popular ones this year! I'm loving all those dark colours!

OOTD | I’m searching for a paradise that I just can’t seem to find

Hello, this week has been quite a strange one. I can't believe we're two weeks into November. Crazy. Today I wanted to introduce you to my blue tulip blouse! I found this baby in a charity shop for £1. It's oversized, sheer and so beautiful. I found some leggings buried deep within the depths of my clothes, I forgot how useful they are. I really love how simple this outfit is and how the blouse gives it some colour. Also, here is my winter coat! I'm not quite sure what kind of jacket it is though.. bomber? (is that completely wrong?!) it has inside pockets and is the most comfiest thing I've ever worn - I also found this in a charity shop for £1. Best bargain ever.

Review | Barry M - Lash Vegas Mascara

A couple of weeks ago I was in need of a new mascara, I popped in to Boots and Vanese told me that Lash Vegas was said to be pretty good, for £6.49 I couldn't really say no. I've not tried anything other than nail polishes from Barry M so I was pretty excited to test it out.
They say the spiral wand is meant to catch every lash and "promises to give you show-stopping volume". I wouldn't say it gets every lash in one go, but I do agree that it gives you show-stopping volume. It gives off the illusion of fake lashes and can look very natural I used to use Benefit's - They're Real! Mascara and I honestly think that Lash Vegas is just as great. With They're Real! it hardens a bit too much which makes it very hard to get, but Lash Vegas isn't quite as difficult. The price difference isn't too bad either, but Lash Vegas is definitely quite the bargain.
With no mascara // with Lash Vegas // with They're Real! separating

The only problem I have with Lash Vegas is that the brush doesn't allow you to separate your lashes individually which can sometimes result in all your lashes being glooped together, but I use my dry They're Real wand to space them out and the end results couldn't be more perfect.

Overall, I think Lash Vegas is an amazing product that should probably be way more expensive than it is, but it's not so we should all praise Barry M for their greatness. Lash Vegas is definitely in my top 5 make-up products now and I would recommend it to everyone for any occasion.

OOTD | All my life I've been waiting for someone like you

Dress : Boohoo | Necklace : Primark | Boots : Simply Be | Lips - Russian Red | Phonecase  c/o : Iconemesis

Laziness is definitely upon me, I was meant to have this post up last week but I've been in one of those I know I should, but I really can't be asked moods recently. Lol, it's half term now so there's really no excuse (other than the fact I need to have my personal statement done by the end of the week..!)  boo. On a brighter note, I got accepted on to AcessAllASOS - I'm officially an ASOS Insider! I'm so excited for all the opportunities that are to come :)

Anyways.. a couple of days ago I went on the hunt for a dress with sleeves and a cheap price! I then came across this beautiful smock dress for £12 on Boohoo. I usually only wear skater dresses, but I really like how smock dresses look - especially this one! It's oversized and the sleeves are rolled up - kinda the perfect dress. I kept the outfit simple with my long necklace and black boots.

The lovely Iconemesis let me pick a phonecase and I chose this one! It caught my eye as soon as I saw it. What I love is that this character 'Fifi' has a story. I love her outfit and the sass she has going on! Honestly, since having an Iphone I've not come across any decent cases, Iconemesis have changed that! I love all the different designs they have. I'm thinking they'll be good for Christmas and birthday gifts too!

OOTD | Sweater Weather - Yumi Blogger Style-Off

Dress c/o : Yumi | Crop Jumper : Ebay | Shoes : Charity Shop/Similar

I was recently contacted by Yumi to ask if I'd like to take part in their Blogger Style-off Challenge! Me and three other bloggers have been picked to take part in this challenge. We each have to pick one dress from Yumi's new Injection Collection and individually style the dresses we picked. Our outfits are featured on Yumi's Facebook and whoever's outfit gets the most likes, wins! The winner will get to pick a piece of their choice from the Yumi site.

I picked this Lace Print Dress because I like the dark colours and the collar! As of course I don't like to show my arms, I popped a black cropped jumper over it. I've never worn a cropped jumper before but I'm glad I have one now. I adore how the cropped jumper looks with this dress, especially with the collar popping out at the top. I finished it off with my black leather shoes to keep things simple.

If you like this outfit you can vote for it here by liking it, be sure to check out the other bloggers outfits too! <3

John lewis - White Stuff collection wishlist

White Stuff wishlist
The new White Stuff collection by John Lewis is so lovely - It's all very autumny and making this wishlist made me feel oh-so christmassy!  1 - I am in love with this blouse, it's covered in birds! I'm really digging  white's this autumn. I think this blouse would be wonderful to wear for transitioning from s/s to a/w!
2 - I really love the whole A-Line skirt trend that is going on at the moment. I love the colour and simplicity of this skirt, so autumny! I think it would love so nice with the the bird blouse tucked in to it! 3 - Obviously scarves are a necessity around this time of year and I'm not sure why but I really like scarves with animals on them! 4 - Brown bags are literally the best, I'm always seeing people with brown bags and they just always look good! I think number 1, 2 and 3 would make a nice outfit! <3

OOTD | Life's a tightrope and you're standing on one toe

Coat & Jumper : Charity Shop | Skirt : Amazon | Belt : ASOS | Boots : Clarks via eBay (similar here)

I'm having a little think about how things have changed over the past year. My blog was crazy different last  October, I think I had done around 5 outfits in total since February! Thinking about it now, even I was different - I didn't really know what I wanted to do with my life and even though I'm not 100% sure, I still have a better idea of what that is now. I think I'm a bit more confident and maybe more outgoing too and I'm so happy about that.
I'm so excited to re-cap my new years resolutions and see what I've achieved this year!

On to what I'm wearing.. this is probably my favorite outfit right now because the colours are so autumn-y!
Browns and reds instantly make me think of autumn and I love how the jumper and the coat look together.
I'm wearing my black skater skirt with my new belt from ASOS and my new Clarks boots.

This outfit was featured on Becca (voussontbeauetbelle)'s "One Trend Any Size - Tartan" post, so go check it out!
I've got a really exciting post coming up soon that I can't wait to share! Until then, goodbye! <3

OOTD | We'll never be royals

Cardigan - Tesco // Shirt - c/o:  Be Unrivalled // Jeans - Ebay // Flatforms - Topshop via Next2Nowt

I do apologise for only using one photo in this post, but it's been getting so dark recently that all my photos have not been clear enough to use. I guess it's finally that time of year again! If you have any recommendations for cheap studio lights, I would love you as I absolutely loathe using the flash! Moving on.. this sugar skull shirt is from Be Unrivalled! Their shirts range from £21-£23 and are made from 100% cotton and is super comfortable and the reason for that is because their ladies shirts are treated with an enzyme wash and peach effect which makes them super soft, completely different to your average cotton t-shirt. I've been loving printed shirts recently and you can't really go wrong with a sugar skull. I was originally going to style this shirt with a skirt but I thought I'd change it up a bit and pair it with my new jeans and flatforms.

New In : WILLS 2-PART FLATFORMS

I know, I know.. I've jumped on the flatform bandwagon a little too late.. but in my defence it was too hot to go outside this summer, let alone thinking of what footwear to buy! These beauties are originally from Topshop  - RRP £35 but I got them on next2nowt for an amazing £20. The right foot is a bit loose at the back, whereas the left fits perfectly, but it's nothing too major. I'm very happy I have these as I've been inspired by Stephanie from TheFashionCitizen, I love the way she styles them. She is my style icon. I shall be saving these for next summer or maybe see if I can slip them on, on a night out!

Do you like flatforms?

3 Vampy Lipsticks for A/W

A bit of a different post from me today, I've wanted to do more beauty posts for quite some time now, but I always tend to buy clothes and shoes instead of buying beauty products! My sister Vanese is always doing beauty posts and I want to join her! I'm going to attempt to be a bit more creative with my posts now, I really want to have more content on here as opposed to just fashion posts!

I've been obsessing over dark lipsticks for ages now so I pretty much went full on crazy when the sun disappeared! Last year I didn't jump on the oxblood trend, I didn't feel so confident wearing anything dark on my face back then, but this year I'm loving dark lips! I've picked out my top 3 vampy lipsticks that I think will be great for this autumn winter. (Please excuse the odd picture out below!)
