The Charcoal Challenge

by - July 10, 2013

HAPPY SUMMER, college is finished and I am happy!

Over in the UK the weather has been surprisingly good (or surprisingly too good!) I'm not used to it being so hot so I can't say I'm loving it, but it's nice when it's cooler and not baking! Anyway, I saw that Money Supermarket had a new challenge for Bloggers - The Charcoal Challenge and I though it would be super awesome to throw a BBQ since I've never had one and the weather is fab.

So the aim for The Charcoal Challenge is to throw a BBQ on a budget.
Money Supermarket will give you £50 so you can show how to throw a BBQ for less!

I had a BBQ with me and 3 friends and this is how I spent the money..!

I had an inside BBQ as I don't have a garden. I borrowed my sisters grill so all I needed was everything else. Vanese, our sister and I went to ASDA to buy everything. First I had to get the obvious BBQ essentials - Beef Burgers and Hot Dogs and then I got some Linda McCartney sausages and mozzarella burgers. Vanese was my personal meat assistant, I asked her what I should get for everyone as I don't eat meat. She picked out - Chicken Drumsticks, Chicken Skewers, Chicken & Sweetcorn Pasta.  - I don't remember the prices but most were around £1 - £3 which is quite brilliant. Also to go with this BBQ I got BBQ sauce and American Style Mustard (which is absolutely amazing and doesn't have a strong kick to it as English Mustard does). I also got Potato Salad and Coleslaw. A cucumber and salad to make a nice salad (also Ranch sauce to go with it). Some cheese slices for the burgers. Cherry and Blueberry Juices. And then I bought some Donuts because why not?! I also went to the 99p store and got some cups and plates so there would be less washing up!

There was probably more, but I can't remember!

I lost the receipt so I don't remember the prices, but it all came up to £48, and I put the other £2 into getting a cab back home because there were too many bags to carry on a bus! I really enjoyed this challenge, I've never even thought of having a BBQ so I'm really glad I took part in this.

Thanks, Bye! :)
